உலக நாடுகளின், அன்பு இரட்சகர்

 கி பி 336 இல் இருந்து நத்தார் மார்கழி திங்கள் 25 ஆம் நாள் கொண்டாடப்பட்டாலும், உலகின் ஆரம்பகால லத்தீன் பாடல்களில் ஒன்று, ஏறக்குறைய நான்காம் நூற்றாண்டை சேர்ந்த "Jesus refulsit omnium" ("Jesus, light of all the nations" / "உலக  நாடுகளின், அன்பு இரட்சகர்") ஆகும். என்றாலும் இது இன்று பரவலாக பலரால் அறியப்படவில்லை என்பது வருத்தத்திற்குரியதே. இதன் மூல லத்தீன் பாடலும், அதை தொடர்ந்து, கேவின் கவ்தொர்னின் [Kevin Hawthorne] ஆங்கில மொழிபெயர்ப்பும், என் தமிழ் மொழிபெயர்ப்பும் தரப்பட்டுள்ளது. / Though, Christians have been celebrating Christmas since at least AD 336, that’s supposedly when the Church first recognised December 25 as Christmas Day, One of the earliest Latin hymns was "Jesus refulsit omnium" ("Jesus, light of all the nations"  / "உலக  நாடுகளின், அன்பு இரட்சகர்") , by Saint Hilary of Poitiers, around the 4th century (368), But it isn’t widely-known today. The original poem in Latin are below with English Translation by Kevin Hawthorne, PhD and Tamil Translation by me.

"Jesus refulsit omnium

Pius redemptor gentium

Totum genus fidelium

Laudes celebret dramatum

Quem stella natum fulgida

Monstrat micans per authera

Magosque duxit praevia

Ipsius ad cunabula

Illi cadentes parvulum

Pannis adorant obsitum

Verum fatentur ut Deum

Munus ferendo mysticum."

தெம்பை கொடுக்கும், கேளுங்கள் அதை

ஆண்டவராகிய மீட்பர், அநிரை தொழுவில்

கண்டு பிடியுங்கள், அவன் தாள் வணங்க

வானத்தில் ஒளிர்ந்து, மினுங்கும் தாரகை

கானத்தில் நிற்பவருக்கும், வழி காட்டிட

மூன்று ஞானிகள், அறிகுறி அறிந்து
